Admission for Residency Programme

SELECTION AND ADMISSION POLICY

Faculty of Postgraduate Medicine shall institute an admission committee headed by Chairperson of Examination committee (Dy. Dean, Academic Affairs)

SELECTION EXAMINATION

Candidates for postgraduate medical courses shall be selected through a competitive selection examination conducted by the Faculty of Postgraduate.  For selection of the candidates into various MD courses the Faculty shall conduct an ENTRANCE EXAMINATION consisting of:

  1. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) – 100 marks and
  2. Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) – 100 mark

A candidate must secure minimum of 50 marks in MCQ and OSCE separately to be eligible to be shortlisted for meriting listing.

NOTE: Same conditions will be applied for all the private Bhutanese and foreign Candidates with regards to entrance examination.

NUMBER OF POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS TO BE ADMITTED

The number of students to be admitted in the various Postgraduate medical education programme at Faculty of Postgraduate Medicine shall be one candidate per year per two recognized postgraduate teachers in the department, for each additional candidate, one more teacher shall be added.
