Twelve specialist doctors responded to their sacred calling today by receiving their specialist doctor’s degree from the Faculty of Post-Graduate Medicine, KGUMSB.

“The last four years has been brutal and at times, even beautiful” reflected one of them. He recounted his long days in the wards, sleepless nights and intense emotional labor in the four years gone by.

He is glad that it is finally over.

“The sufferings of my patients, the sacrifices from my family member, my own determination and resolve has given me the vocation to heal.” said another. He has realized that patients are not just looking for medicine, but for comfort, for clarity and courage from their doctors.

Another one expressed it was the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning and service. The real training starts now. Let us pray that the journey is of courage, compassion and fulfillment, to serve and not just to survive.

The officiating President of the university, Dr Kuenzang Chenzom, congratulated them, and reminded all present to practice medicine with compassion, guided by ethics and inspired by our love for humanity.
